Knitted a pair of fingerless gloves for Natalie for Christmas 2011.

Color orange was her choice. Panda silk yarn from my favorite shop Knit Wit.

Steve's Family Stockings

Jill's stocking was stitched last year but not delivered. The other three were stitched in the last three months so I could deliver to them for Christmas 2011.

Four of the stockings were stitched several years ago. Nathan's finally got finished this year.

He has been a very patient sweet guy.

My Forgotten Doll

So many yeas ago that I don't even remember when or where I took a class to make this doll. To the best of my recollection, the head, shoes and socks were furnished and we made the body in class. I brought home a naked doll and put it aside and with so many moves, forgot all about it. I was cleaning a trunk full of old needlework before our last move and there she was!

I had mentioned to several people about her and how I wanted to dress her in a prairie dress. My friend Arlene offered to drive me to Dolls and Cradles and there was the perfect dress with cap on sale for $5.00! Finally she is all ready and pretty sitting on our bedroom chair! I think she needs a little doll to hold!

We had such fun.......Natalie, Laura and I. We went to Prairie Point and the girls picked out 4 pieces of fabric each. There was no help from nana. We also picked up some for little brother. We brought the pieces home and they cut and sewed and stuffed with some supervision. We'll have to try something similar soon. It was just too much fun to only do it once. Am thinking maybe they will enjoy making some fabric ornaments for friends and relatives.

Linen stitch scarf

The first linen stitch scarf that I have knitted using three different skeins of fingering weight yarn. I used "Claudia's Hand Painted Yarns" which is 100% merino wool. I just love the way it turned out. It blocked beautifully. A gift to Mary for her birthday.

My friend Kathy stitched this lovely pincushion given to us on our trip to Tulsa by BBD. She was sweet enough to include Kelly's and my initials on the little cushion.
I put the stitched piece together for her and did the crochet for the two pin tops.
Kelly and I are still working on ours. Kelly is ahead of me! Who in this world isn't ahead of me.....hard to tell!! For a while we didn't speak to Kathy because we were so envious of her speed, but we finally gave in! What can I say. she is Princess of Speed Stitching!

SCARF FOR ME

Schaeffer Yarn called Blossom. I am so in love with this yarn and unfortunately Jan tells me it has been discontinued! I used the entire skein and knitted the scarf 6 inches wide on 11 needles. Love love love the way it turned out! Will be wearing it with so much pleasure!

DMC Classics Roses Sampler

I purchased this sampler from Lisa at Frenchneedle a few years back. It is a challenge to myself to complete it in 2010. I love the roses but am not enjoying working on 28 count linen. It is too large a count for me but have to use it because I want a large piece. Can't wait to hang it above our bed!

Paper Dolls

I bought this fabric to make a little throw for Laura then Sharon made a book. At this point I don't know what to do with it. I am not sure Laura will like either idea. I should make something and just keep it here for her to play with when she comes to visit. If I don't hurry, she'll outgrow it! The doll clothes can be put on and removed.

A scarf for someone special

A special scarf for someone special. Have no clue if it will please. Anyway, I tried. The string beside the scarf is how the yarn comes. Two stitches knitted where the string is on #13 needles. Not much fun to knit with yarn like that. If that is all I had, I'd give up knitting!

Never too late nor too old!

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to create a little something. Recently, in an e-mail to my dear friend Lois of Elegant Stitch, I mentioned that I wanted to sit on my sofa with my feet up and crochet tiny buttons. Her return e-mail to me was..."what button?" Thus, these little creations sprang to life. I crochet them and send them to Lois and she takes care of the rest.
While making buttons, I decided to add tiny heads for pins too.

My version of the Blackbird-Designs freebie contest. I stitched on 28 count evenweave over one using DMC colors 347, 3328, 3712.

The Pixos flowers on the top right are Laura's (my granddaughter) gift to me.

The piece is resting on a tablecloth I stitched as part of my elementary school curriculum.
